Ok corkonians, aa routeplanner say 2h15mins to Roscrea. So will we meet at 2h15mins before the Limerick/West gang meet in Roscrea, whatever time that is? Say in Silversprings Car Park?

That sounds cool enough wit me. You'd need a degree in geography to follow what the hells going on! Is Mike-Kerry going to be meeting wit us then? And if he reads this the hotel is booked up, dont believe the web site. Try the b & b. So just be to be sure, Silversprings Car Park at what time?

Guys surely travelling through Roscrea is way off the beaten track for the Cork crew? The main Cork Dublin rd. is the N8, the main Limerick Dublin rd is the N7. These two coincide at Portlaoise, that would seem like the most logical meeting place. As D Dan says the midway is just off the Mortorway.

how about we meet at the midway hotel in portlaois that morning?

Portlaois is bypassed now - I would suggest its better to meet on the N7 like Roscrea, Urlingford or Monasterevin,

Monasterevin is also bypassed :smt019

Folks I've booked the Redmond restaurant http://www.woodenbridgehotel.com/htmlsi ... .asp?id=10
in the hotel for evening dinner at 7.30pm for 20 people.
Just FYI, The other restaurant in the hotel (Il Ruscello) is being taken over by new management and they could not confirm if it would be open or not. (Also there are no other restaurants within walking distance).
Just on the check in issue they said any time after 2.30pm.

Nice one... the closer the better, means that I can sit in the hotel bar until 25 past seven before legging it to get ready for the meal! :D :D

Folks the Karting starts at 11.30 (i.e you should be suited up and in the kart driving at 11.30am). We will begin getting signed up, suited up, safety briefing etc at 11.15am. Please arrange to be at Kylemore for 11.00am. The fee per driver is €50 for the Gran Prix. I have made the booking and will pay for the group as a whole (with your money  ). I'll have a list of names with me, please pay the €50 to me and I will pay the facility.
We will be on track one

I will on the day probably. Really all that matters is the numbers and that everyone pays. Each person will need to fill in a disclaimer on the day anyway. No need to post up your girlfriends/wife/escorts name on the public forum 8)

Silversprings is a Hotel in Cork. Sure if its easier for you to meet the Limerick gang we can just meet up with ye on the way? Portlaois does seem like obvious place for cork to limerick. motorway the rest of the way then.

Google maps is giving a journey time of just under an hour from Portlaois to Kylemore.
To allow for traffic and to arrive a little early we'd want to be leaving Portlaois around 9, earlier if we're meeting the lads in Kildare.

Any ideas where to meet in Portlaois?

Roscrea to Portlaoise is just over half an hour, we might be as well off just meeting in Portlaoise.

If meeting In Portlaoise I suggest the midway hotel, It's just off the M7/N8 junction.

If you are approaching from the Limerick Direction, DO NOT take the first exit for Portlaoise at the very start of the motorway. Instead take the next exit, signposted for PortLaoise, Cork etc. Take the slip road, off then thake the 2nd exit off the roundabout signposted for Portlaoise, travel for about 200m metres then turn right into the hotel carpark.
If you are approaching from Cork, the last town you pass through is Abbeyleix. When you hit the roundabout outside Portlaoise, take the 3rd exit signposted for Portlaoise travel for about 200m metres then turn right into the hotel carpark. There is a food court there, with a few eateries, and toilets for the weary traveller.
