Mitsubishi says Hi

As you all know, this year the FTO turns 20.
With that in mind and given the fact that they were all produced in the same factory in Japan I thought it would be nice to say thanks to the people responsible.
A couple of months back I contacted the general manager of the Mizushima plant to let him know that we appreciate their efforts and are still enjoying the cars.

I got a lovely reply back saying they were delighted with the sentiment and asking if it would be OK to share it with the factory's workers and the rest of Mitsubishi Japan via an internal newsletter.
They asked for some information on the club as well as a few photos including a "face photo" of yours truly... (excuse the selfie).

Anyway, below is a copy of the newsletter which I received a few days ago.
I like knowing that the very people that made our cars are now aware of us as a club.

Just as an update to this...

You might like to know that I received another email from Mitsubishi, this time from the global after sales department in Toyko.
Most of you will have heard of Project F, they made a number of aftermarket parts for the FTO, they also happen to be the biggest FTO owners club in Japan.
As part of a festival at the Mizushima plant, Project F in collaboration with Mitsubishi are celebrating the FTO's 20th anniversary.

The person that contacted me is part of the Motor Culture Promotion Club (good idea :smt023 ) and will be attending, I've asked him for some pictures from the event so I'll update with those as soon as I get them.

It doesn't look like it Kace... although there's still time for them to fuel the jet and come pick me up.
