Cool - Looking forward to the prognosis !

We could have a VERY interesting alternative car meet at this stage what with the various versions of FTO's plus cars like an RX7, Mivec Colt, FTO engined Colt, TT 225 ,350Z etc

2002, 1.8t, 225bhp. Nothing extra on it at all (no cruise, heated seats, etc) but I'm definitely willing to make the sacrifice - nice to have the tight, cocooned feeling back in the cabin again ;)

Early days yet but so far I'm impressed with the ride quality even though it's pretty firm - nice feeling on the inside and I love sitting low again :)

I'm dying to get a proper look at a 350z and an RX7 though ;)

Cheers guys

@Maud - I hear what your saying - had a slide last night - lucky I was going slow

@CJ - that's what my wife asked - I'm guessing another 18 months :)

3 days into TT ownership and it's been all good (as you'd expect I guess) - so what are my thoughts so far.....

    1. Interior is a very nice place to be

    2. You do get a lot of stares (but that could be because at 33 I'm still getting Stopped for id at some pubs/nightclubs so maybe I look a lot younger)

    3. There's a lot of grunt (again, as you'd exepect

    4. I haven't fully tested out the handling due to weather conditions (slippy roads) and I had a full on (low speed) 4-wheel slide last night so I'll be waiting for some dryer roads... ;)

    5. Traction off the line is immense

    6. Haven't been able to get a totally comfortable seating position yet but I guess I'll gradually get used to it

    7. Fuel consumption isn't great but I can live with it

    8. Engine/exhaust sound nice when accelerating hard - nice rough, raspy edge to the sound (this suprised me as I've heard many people complain about the bland sounding engine)

    9. Boot space is at a premium - you could fit 3 sets of golf clubs in the book with back seats down but that's about it really.

    10. The back seats are just for show - unless you're under 6 ;)

Overall I'm liking it... it ain't no lightweight sports car but for everyday driving if you can live with the lack of space it's pretty sweet

Was it you that did the skid last year and had a pile of problems with your suspension ever since? I seem to remember something like that happening to somebody..

Hey Muad - don't remind me (cost me a few dollar)

Yeh it was me... was only giving out to my firend last night for pissing around the elusive corner of hell!! I replaced the front dampers, new springs, drop links, arb's and some other thing i can't spell and then had laser alignment.. a day later it was back to normal thank god! or Paul Nolan (whats the difference sure!)

Now really must go do some christmas shopping!

Quick update - haven't had time to get any photos (it always seems to be dark) but I've had time to drive - there's more understeer than I'd like (soon to be sorted via a haldex controller upgrade and some beefier arb's) but as a package the car is ballistic - 225bhp + 4wd is very, very quick and once remapped there should be thrills aplenty. The interior is a very sweet place to be and (suprisingly) it still draws a lot of admiring glances (but that could be because I look about 24 ;)). All in all a very well sorted package and a car I may break my 18 month ownership record with....
