Faulty Stepper motor - is a recon possible?

Postby pergau » Thu Oct 02, 2003 12:00 pm

Hi

I seem to have a faulty stepper motor - I have taken it apart and cleaned it (It was spotless) and tried testing the resistance on the coils and one of them seens to have died.

Is it possible to get replacements or to recon them yourself or do I have to buy a replacement one? and if so, where should I go Japco?

Any advice would be appreciated as I have to renew my tax and insurance soon.

It is possible to remove the coil and replace it with a coil out of any type of mitsubishi car. I got one from a lancer and it has worked perfect ever since.

Thanks Garlaf

I presume that you mean the stepper motor of another Mitsubshi. It's just that STG £150 is a lot at the moment.
