Middle section for exhaust...

Postby philip » Sun Oct 10, 2004 11:26 am

All,
Looking to find the middle section for my exhaust (gpx) as mine is on the way out. Any guide on price range, were the best place to get a new/second hand part and fitted? Based in Galway...Cheers...

Philip, if you havn't already done so, ring around your local scrap yards to see if they have any FTOs for breaking, IIRC, all FTOs have the same exhausts from the cat back.

I have an absolutely mint standard GPX exhaust (changed mine to an aftermarket type) Philip - can be picked up (& fitted if you like) in Limerick.

You may be right CJ - I had thought that the bore on a GR exhaust is 50mm and on a GPX 67mm.Also believed the mounting flanges were different.

Is the difference only on the manifold and downpipe?? - and then the same system from the cat - back???

In retrospect MfFTO , you're right and I'm wrong ;)

A bit of reseach shows that GR and GS shared the same exhaust from 94-97, the centre section p/n is MR160272. From 97 on, the GR p/n changed to MR355247 and the GS to MR340950. All GPX centre sections are the same p/n - MR160273.
