Why not meet in the Swords shopping centre carpark? It's a little closer for those living southside, especially as we're gonna be coming back towards clontarf.

Will I be the only non-jap there.....? Am I still allowed?

Ah alright then - I guess just this once - I'm also likely to be the only other non-FTO there as well!

At Elaine - everyones welcome - would be interesting to see how a Teg/M3 matches up.

I'd suggest a time of circa 1500?? We will likely go for a bite to eat afterwards and a few drinks for those that can! - so probably best that its not too early.

Ok, heres the deal:

Meet date: Sunday the 25th of February
Meet time: 12:00pm
Meet at: Roundtowers filling station off Balbriggan / M1 exit (directions below)
Activities: Drive cars thru port tunnel, pay for the pleasure, head out onto Dollymount Stand, get cars dirty and take a few pics.

It may seem that we're meeting off the beaten track - the idea is to get somewhere off the M1 that allows for adequate parking and a bit of distance for a convoy.

Directions:

From Southern side (i.e. N4, N7, M50)

1. Travel northbound on the M50, you'll notice a large water tower just before the Ballymun\DCU\Airport turnoff on the left hand side, continue straight ahead past this exit.

2. As you approach the exit for the M1 (northbound\Belfast), the M50 divides into two lanes straight on and two lanes filter off ( the speed limit is reduced to 80kmh at that area and theres a speed camera on the lefthand side ) you need to indicate left and veer off into the two lanes, the road takes a hard enough left turn and you'll be spat out onto the M1

3. On the M1, ignore the airport and Swords/Donabate turnoffs, take first exit signposted for Balbriggan.

4. At top of slip, take the 3rd exit on roundabout (over motorway flyover). Go straight thru the next roundabout and take the next left turn 50M down the road (towards Lusk).

5. Keep an eye out for the Roundtowers filling station on the right hand side about 1-2kms up this road, pull in and join other FTOs!.

From the Northern side i.e. Drogheda

1. From the Drogheda toll bridge there are 3 exits for Balbriggan,
Travel south, down M1 towards M50/Dublin, take the last Balbriggan/Lusk exit, ( before Donabate/swords exit )

2. At the top of the slip road, take the thirad exit (left) back across the motorway, refer to steep 4 above for further directions.

PM me if you want my number in case of an emergency!

Come on guys & gals - this'll be great!
Also you get to laugh at my car standard 16s on the front and my 18s on the back - looks crap!
Was actually considering going in the Golf instead - then I came to my senses :-)

Golfs are banned, no ifs and buts!

Btw, MfFTO (aka MfZed), make sure and keep that Zed at a sensible distance - we don't want it making our FTOs look cheap ;)

That area around Balbriggan can be big speed trap territory just to let you know. Also have noticed the white Gatzo van parked under bridge before Port Tunnel entrance a few times especially on Sundays!
If a few of you are interested on Sunday we might try and do some shots inside the tunnel, i'll have to be hanging out someones window but it could be good, may require a couple of trips up and down the tunnel though. 8)

Sounds like a great idea Mark, lets discuss the merits on Sunday!

Can we also start to map out the agenda below also :

15:00 Meet up where
16:00 Leave for Tunnel
16:30 Dollymount Photo Op ???
17:30 Or just go straight for food and beers somewhere, e.g. Yacht in Clontarf has big carpark

Also - does anyone know whether there is any specific speed trap technology in the tunnel.

Hope it's not like the Mont Blanc tunnel - 70kph speed limit enforced by speed cameras every 150m or so.
