Cat replacement box

Postby JD » Mon Nov 17, 2003 3:06 pm

Does anyone know if fitting a Cat Replacement Box (i.e. get rid of the Cat) would have a negative effect on emmissions - and would there be NCT consequences, (I presume there would)?

Yes and yes ;)

Without the cat, you're talking about a low idle HC value of +0.06vol%, anything above 0.05 is a fail. Most of us with cat bypass pipes just swap the cat back in for the NCT.
