i paid €3,000 for it with trailer,2 life jackets,1 gallon of the 2-stoke oil, yamaha cover and 50hours on the clocks. plus it has datatag and a bill for service October 2010 for €700.there is cheaper on ebay maybe ,but this is a local ski that was kept well.

Ok, I'm not trying to piss in your parade, I delighted for you that you got something you clearly wanted, so well wear and I hope you enjoy it, but am I the only one who just doesn't see the big attraction? Don't get me wrong, been on them and really enjoyed it, but only for about 10/15mins, and I'd get bored then fairly quick. And that's been in nice warm climates, not freezin Irish conditions.
Not trying to ruin your thread, just wondering am I alone on this?

Nope....

If I had that cash lying spare it would be a 'busa or something like that. I'd prefer to hire a jet ski or borrow a mates, I know too many people who bought boats and skis and other stuff and only used them once or twice and then they were put in garages or docked. But if you reckon you'll get use out of it then best of luck with it.

i know what you mean. i wanted one for years but after 15 minutes of a circuit it was abit boring.but this years in spain i went on a jet ski trip for almost 3 hours up the coast .and i just made up my mind i was going to get one. yes they do get little use ,but it is just a toy really. im sure i will enjoy. ill get good wet suits and im sure me and the kids will get some good days out of it.

My mate has had a few of them, and we would go out quite a bit. Getting a dry suit has made the experience completely different. For years we did the wetsuit thing. He bought a dry suit for a couple of 100 euro I think it was.
Now it takes 5 minutes to get ready. tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt underneath. You can fall in the water the whole lot, completely dry seal. Much easier movement than a wetsuit too. No issues with cold weather either. Plus getting changed takes 5minutes before going home. Whip it off, and your good to drive off. :) Check it out. Makes the whole thing much more hassle free. He only wishes he got a dry suit years ago.

The big issue with a dry suit though is that it can get very hot when you are not in the water.

I use a dry suit all the time for diving - but if I was jet ski-ing - I'd be more inclined to use my semi-dry - better movement than a dry suit and easier to regulate your body temp.

I'm selling my rib btw in case anyones interested - http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/boats/2167962

I'm the PR guy for that well known car enthusiast website - FTO Ireland

I've been offloading all toys over the past few months (SUV/Boats/SC Zed) as my own priorities have changed. 2 kids under 3 and a third on the way will do that for you. Plus it doesn't pay to have toys in the current economic climate - all that money tied up in stuff that could be spent on kids, home etc plus you look like a mickey when other friends and family members are suffering financially.
