best brakes?

anyone out there recommend good brake pads and where to get them.i was coming through waterfoord the other evening and i heard a squealing noise coming from my front drivers wheel as i was braking but i haven't heard it since i am hoping it is just pads

Ive started using pagids and I find them very very good.

Be careful though mine were squealing for about a week while i was waiting on pads and when they were taken off the pads were in bits. Dont wait too long to get them changed!

Pagids are good but can be quite dusty, EBC Greenstuff V4 and Redstuff Ceramics have also got good reviews. Have a look at the selection ion Camskills site.

I used pagids on my GR and found them to be excellent - only problem I found was that they could be squeaky when they were cold and travelling slow (in traffic).

I had greenstuff v3 on my GS and they covered my wheels in brake dust.

I have Greenstuff V4 on my GPX - good road pads - but I find them v dusty - and these are claimed to be low dust pads! I think you'll find though that most performance pads are quite dusty - I had a similar story with the last set of Mintex pads.

Out of curiousity, anyone tried EBC standard pads? Just won a set of rear pads on Ebay for £12.50, £24.40 on Camskill so not bad from that point of view, but are the pads any good?

I had EBC standard pads a while ago they wernt great to be honest, few "brown trouser" moments in them, For some strange reason they always felt like they were slipping and it was even worse when they were cold/wet.

But it really depends on what your used to I had green stuff before them so maybe i was over confident in the pads,

I woouldnt worry about putting them on the back though.
