There is a good selection of models available; manual or tiptronic, 2.0 V6 or 1.8 4 cylinder, and MIVEC or non MIVEC V6 models.
Which one you go for will depend on how much your insurance is, what type of driving you do, and what type of driver you are.
There is a lot of information out there about FTOs, and a lot of them for sale at all-time low prices.
Test drive as many as you can, and buy one that's been loved.

Welcome to the site.

thinking between 5k - 8k. Some of the ones I have looked at have been a lot cheaper than i expected for instance 2ltr mivec gpx 1996 for 4,500

Haven't seen them in person yet but they look quite good!! must organise a test drive or two.

Hopefully they are as good as they look and luckily my brother is a mechanic so shouldn't get stung!!!

Yay, another girl on the site!

Welcome, I drive a mivec manual and love it. Nothing beats that mivec roar and providing your past history is good, insurance is pretty good for us girls :)

I lived and worked in Navan for a while, what part are you from? There was always a nice white mivec that used to float around the town.

I second that, saw this car in the flesh myself and had it for a drive, very tidy machine.
Welcome to the site anyway, and good luck with the searching. Bring a manual mivec for a spin and you'll soon know the one you want.

The ice-cream man I presume. God knows what everyone will do without that freaking noise going through their heads, rain or snow.

Wouldn't say he'd be overly busy this time of year anyway, unless he diversified and sold pies during the winter months?
