I hope you got the quote in writing? Some of these feicers have a tendancy to give quotes and when you go back to take it up its no longer available... One crowd did that to me once, but after several phone calls they eventually gave me the policy at the price they quoted me.

Hopefully they won't do that but you just can't trust these guys more often than not!

If you get a good quote - always get a reference/case number...if they say they can't give you a reference/case number you don't want to be insured with them..

has anyone got any quotes from britton insurance, all me mates are changing their policies over to them seem to be the cheapest place around at the moment.......
be worth a go.

When I got my FTO a few weeks ago I tried Britton. The only quote I got was with XS Direct. 1250Yoyo with a 4K excess. Didn't make a whole lot of sense for a car i was paying 6.5K for. That's for 27 year old, 7 years no claims, full licence for 8 years.

Insurance renewal time... down to just over 1300. Ah well, with just 2 full years no claims (although my discount is still listed as 55%) it is down a bit from last year, and noone else I tried came anywhere close, if they would quote.

I don't want to pollute the topic with other marques but suffice is to say that it is an import and I'm paying €800 with XSdirect with a €4k excess. I got a quote off QD previously and they were talking about €1200 FC if I were to swap over from the FTO....

I'mpaying €656 with quinn-direct on a 1.8 gs auto. I'm 25(just gone) 5year NCB, Full Licence for 4 years and its TPFT with NCB Protected and Windscreen cover. Not too bad seen as its the first year anyone would quote me on it. It was €850ish(cant remember the exact figure) For fully comp.
Got quoted $3000+ off Hibernian, Robbing so snd so's

I think you'll find that its third-party extention cover as opposed to open drive, IIRC QD don't do OD, I'm open to correction though...

windscreen cover

Postby karlf » Sun Oct 01, 2006 3:28 pm

It doesnt come as part of the ordinary TPFT cover, it cost a little extra €60ish to get windscreen cover and the protected NCB on my policy but its definately on there. QD are offering open drive on their policies as well, its for people 25+, but again it costs more for the privilage.
It gives you an option for it on the driver info part of the questionaire

Renewel time again, QD came in with 711 euro FC inc windscreen cover and protected bonus (32yrs, 5 year NCB, GPX, full licence). I reckon this quote might be tough to beat this year again, so far Bestquote.ie, 123.ie and insure.ie won't quote, I'll try some of the other usual suspects to see what comes back.

Getting my own insurance now for the 1st time, previously I had being a name driver.

My deatils 21, Female, 3years full license, 4 years name driving, no claims, GR.

I rang quinn direct and they've quoted me €887.08 fully comp with windscreen cover.

Think is is a pretty good quote for starting out on my own.

What you's think?

You just got yourself a 'male sickening' quote there. A guy in your position with similar record would probably be looking at 3 times that amount

Hear hear! - I wouldn't give up my willy for a grand a year!

I suppose its basically a tax on having a willy!
Personally I hope they don't tax it like with engines and start bringing size into the equation! :P
