Would want to be deciding on the accomodation fairly soon, We're getting into Christmas party season :smt111 so a lot of places will be getting booked up...

Have we finalised the times, routes, activities, etc?

Guys any update on this?

I would propose this:

1) Dublin people meet at the Red Cow Luas car park at 9am Saturday

2) either:
A- Meet in Cork/Limerick crowd Limerick city, and continue on to Ennis.
B- Meet everyone in Ennis at 11.30/11.45

2) Ennistymon (If anyone's interested, nice photo op beside the cascades)

3) On to Lahinch, take a spin down the prom and annoy the locals! (13.00 approx)

4) Get some lunch in Liscannor (I'll be hungry at that stage) 13.30

5) Head up coast to Doolin Fanore and Ballyvaughan 15.00

6) Ailwee caves 15.30

It'll start to get dark once we're finished in the caves. Anyone not doing an overnighter would head home,

Presuming there'll be a few scoops involved Saturday evening?

Sunday, pick up where we left off and drive through the Burren, Carran etc, in the morning/noon and see the limestone pavement etc. and head home.

This is all weather permitting I suppose. It's mainly about the cars, so any ways to make it more interesting and driver focussed are welcome!
These are only my suggestions, and are not the actual times or places. Anyone with knowledge of the area should voice their suggestions or opinions at this stage,

Guys,

We need to sort out the accomodation soonish - as previously mentioned - http://www.merrimanhotel.com - in Kinvarra is a good reasonably priced hotel - €50 pps for the Saturday 8th Dec. I suggest we agree on the hotel and book our own rooms. I just spoke to them and they currently have good availability. Some of you guys will remember (& some won't be able to remember  ) this hotel from the last trip up there. Kinvarra is also a good place to park the cars - parking is secure and its a good town for food and pub crawl.

I second the proposal for the Merriman hotel. €100 per room -nice hotel , nice village. (it's €140 per night in Hotel Doolin). That's €40 saved that you can use to buy a round :smt030
Let's move on this sharpish :smt079

Motion carried.

I just booked my room at the Merriman, so I guess that's where we're staying! They take 10% as deposit online.

Probably as handy for the Cork, Limerick, Dublin crew, to meet in Limerick. On the Ennis Rd perhaps? How about the statoil garage on the Ennis Rd? I reckon I will probably be the only one joining the convoy in Ennis so no need to stop on my account.

If Gabico is coming from Galway, and you're in Ennis, it'd probably be handy for ye to join on the Lahinch Road? We'll be on that road anyway.

Yea that's fine, we'll finalise details once we have numbers. Perhaps ye could meet the Cork crew in Limerick, and then on to Ennis -as the last pick up point. The One Mile Inn on the Lahinch road (just beside the Esso garage) might be suitable, for a stop -carpark isn't the best but should be empty that time of day. Last stop for petrol, coffee, etc....

I confirm Mrs Mustang will be there :smt057 :smt079
Although I seem to have missed the (undoubtedly smutty) joke :smt090
Mrs FeckinFTO will be there too.
