1999 GR Tip

Postby adrian » Wed Nov 19, 2003 2:28 pm

Hi,

Called High Grade imports in Dublin there to check stock. They have a 1999 GR TIP, metallic Gold, 62K KMs on the clock for €17,500 registered.

They have no more coming in till Jan.

That sounds fairly expensive right??? But a nice car to get your hand on.

Expensive is not the word...
If I was spending that money, I'd rather go with the hassle of getting Newera to import a 98 GPvR Aero series and register it myself.

I would imagine that Hi-Grade are just buying directly from the importer just like you and I can do. Would be worth doing some investigative work to see who supplies the bulk of imports to the Irish market.

He told me that they are buying direct from Japan and they have a man on the ground out there. They are based in Dublin Port and he says he has 100 cars coming in next week alone.

Interesting. Do you have an email address for them? I want to do some snooping ;)

I've sent off a couple of emails to Irish importers with regard to their access to 97+ manual GPX's and GPvR's, lets see what comes back.

Keep me posted Ciaran, I'd be very interested to know.

By the way, GPvR's are fetching more cash...how much more???

From looking at UK prices, it seems that GPvR's are approx. 20% more expensive than a manual GPX of the same year, the same may or may not be true here. Savvy dealers who know they don't come onto the market all that much will try to squeeze few extra quid out of them I'm sure.

While we're on the topic, interested parties might want to register on http://www.autoterminal.com/ to get an idea of whats available from these guys.
