Emissions way too high

Postby Neil » Wed Sep 13, 2006 12:33 pm

My CO is 2.55vol% , they allow only 0.5%

And I've no sidelights!!!

Everything else is top-notch.

Should I just give up on the NCT? Its not as if its actually enforced...

Dip Tain - Any decent motor factors sells it, clears up the carbon etc in the engine which reduces your emissions, also i assume you've got your catalytic convertor on?

As for sidelights, you may need to actually drill into the existing lights and wire up a side light, i'll try to get a picture of what i'm talking about...

as for NCT not being enforced, i'm not sure on the cop side of things but from the insurance perspective, they may refuse to pay out on a claim if you don't have a valid NCT as they could deem the car unroadworthy

Swap out the CAT for the NCT - I'm sure theres quite a few de-catted members on here with the CAT sitting in their garage at present gathering dust - I'm sure if you asked nice they'd lend it for a couple of days.

You'd get this value if you car is running wo. a cat... Like Myfeckin' says - try and get a lend of one from a fellow member who's running a decat as well.

Alternatively I've heard that if you get a letter from mitsi stating that the car was originally sold wilth out a cat - as part of a special sports package they will omit the emision test.. However this would be entirely upto you to prove...

Get a universal four wire lambda and an engine temp sensor. Should be around 30-35 quid the lot. That will bring your emmissions right down.

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.
