Postby steelroe » Tue Jul 27, 2004 10:34 pm

Any of you IT guys know where I can get a cheap Motherboard for a Dell pentium 4 machine. Equivalent from another manufacturer would also do.

Dell Board code M0321

Help Please

Try Dawn Computers (used to be www.dawncomputers.com but doesn't seem to work at the moment). They're based in Milltown/Dundrum and are uaually very cheap for PC components...

you could also try

http://www.discount-computers-ni.co.uk/

They are the cheapest I've found so far even after shipping.
It usually arrives the next day too.

Most atx boards will fit the case

Not a great selection of p4 boards though,
there is also komplett.ie and jaguarcompsys.ie

Depending on the design of the case, you might have a problem mating the board to the slots and screw holes. What model of Dell are you referring to?

If you're happy to do a bit of fabriacting then you should be fine ( I've done it a couple of times and the machine has worked fine but the back of it looked brutal after I'd hacked half the case away!). Try Scan in the UK or Komplett closer to home. This link on Dells site may be useful

I'm guessing that Rory has managed to sort something out over the past 12 months ;)
