Saw a 2003 one on the way home yesterday evening, a white one. Jesus, it looked amazing! Looked on Auto Trader UK and there are none. Are these all Jap imports? Anyone know much about them? I think I have found my next car!!?

Would be a good choice if you were looking for a 4 door saloon.
Believe they are about 210bhp - fairly peppy high revving FWD saloon with decent handling.
Personnally I'd be more inclined towards a VR4 (ala CJ) - at a fraction of the cost with better performance.
For the same money it would be hard to pass up an Evo VIII FQ300.

There are tons of Type R's / Euro R's on sale on carzone inc -

True, but would running costs and upkeep not be alot less then an EVO and a VR4? COuld you really get a decent EVO VIII for 23k on the road??

You could if you imported from the UK.

Running costs (servicing and maintanance) will be higher - tax and insurance won't differ that much. Depends on what mileage you do I guess. However - the Type R is a quickish saloon - An Evo FQ300 is a supercar slayer.

Test drive both and you'll see what I mean.

BTW - 350Z's are now hitting mid 20K's. My mate just imported a '03 350Z ST (top jap spec) with 20K miles for less than 25K Euros (cleared - all taxes paid). Thats a LOT of performance car for the money.

...and tons of them around west Dublin, I spot a few new ones every week. I like them (the CL3 in particular, pre '03 models looks a little, well, too long!) but they're way over priced for what they are, theres better value for money to be had out there in the in the mildly quick sedan arena. I'd have a Beams engined Altezza before the Euro-R.....

I'm with the guys on this one - too expensive for what you get - 210bhp isn't all that much these days so it'd be a real performance come down from the 911. As MfFTO says - a few grand more and you have 280bhp of 350z (not to mention the handling and noise  )

I guess it depends on what you're looking for in your next car really.

Cheers. I guess that's the big question. I might be getting a longer commute from summer onwards so will see. Also, I probably will need something with a bit more room then the GPX.... I will have 2 kiddies come July! Ah, hopefully the GPX will stay.... but always looking.

Did you sell the 911?

If it was me I'd keep the GPX and look at a derv for the commute - you can get some decent ones now and a quick remap would bump up power and improve mpg 8)

Hey. The 911 is up for sale in Belfast at the moment. Just went up yesterday. I will post details here next week... when I get some photos etc up.

Yea, we'll see what happens on the car front. Diesel would be an option for sure....
