Heli-coil Kit for GPX

Postby Mitsinut » Sun Sep 16, 2012 6:42 pm

Out of the frying pan (GR) and into the fire (GPX)...... Anyone have a heli-coil kit for the spark plugs or know where it can
be got/done? Blew a spark plug yesterday and took a coil with it, threads poor all around.

Not cheap if it is.

I'll need one of them too, but i'll be looking for that 2nd hand. Turns out they are shorter than the GR so my donor car
is no good. What I'm looking for is the tool kit to re-bore the threads and the inserts for the plugs. I got the plug back in,
but it is only going to blow out again as it is only catching about 1/4 of the thread.

Is there a specific heli-coil kit for the GPX with guides to make sure it is bored straight?

For anyone who wants to hear the sound it makes when this happens, it is exactly the same as the sound
at the start of this video;

The reason I'm asking if anyone has a specific kit is the guide part indicated at 2.32 in the video... which could
make life alot easier.
