I can actually make it to this lads but my NCT is well expired as a result of my high emissions as most of you know... Im guessing a meet like this will attract plenty of attention... Is it worth risking do ye think? 5 penalty points is a massive fear.

as long as you have the booking with you i dont think it will be a problem , and besides i don't think you will be trhe only one with an expired NCT there

a lot of that was scaremongering, nothing was heard of it since. apparently they give you a warning to get a booking forst, and if they catch you again and you haven't booked anything - then they might do something.

You're gonna have to make this choice yourself Chris. Get a retest booked in the interim which will cover you.

Book a retest, once you have proof you're just waiting for a date you should be fine.

I might make alternative plans to meet you guys though... Cork to Athlone is a fair trek to turn around and come back... Any route decided on?

im going to be looking at a some routes tonight but im very open to suggestions

not alot in the noth of tipp but a fair view nice places in the south, but the south it pretty far away, i'd say a max of a hour trip in any direction ?

any ideas sugestions

A nice sort-ish drive is to Portumna

This is a 56k drive

A longer drive is to Lough Derg
Latitude : 52°55'30.25"N
Longatitude : 8°16'33.59"W
This is a 74k trip

I'll be coming from meath -> M6 from the kinnegad turn on, then taking that straight the way to althone.

needless to say - be carfull on that road i see a lot of speed traps.
