AVG

Postby optical illusion » Sat Jun 28, 2008 7:31 pm

I used to be a bit nerdy back in the day, but it seems to be seeping out of me somehow...

I can't remember how to get avg to run at start up, like, I want to see the little square icon in the bottom right of my taskbar constantly... Also before, it used to update itself upon startup, now I have to start avg and do it manually, is it because I dl'ed the newest version maybe?

When I open up task manager it's running in the list of processes...

I'm just afraid if a trojan comes along it's not going to catch it...

AVG is OK... But a totally free, better option is CLAMWIN http://www.clamwin.com/ Its open source software. I put it on every PC I build. Never had anyone come back and tell me it doesn't work.

hmmmmm might be way to late,, but if using XP go to start-> run, type in msconfig, got to startup tab,, these are a list of the the programs that start up with windows,, useful tool to enhance computer proformance, no harm disabling them all as there not critical services etc..,, so just find the AVG ap and make sure it's ticked,, should see it on reboot.
