Nice one, that'll come in handy, my right headlight needs a bit of work.

The above link no longer works, the same process is also described in an FTOOC thread:

I've now done one of my headlights... This procedure works.. It's hard work - but it works!

That's 2.5hours well spent!

(Hint..make sure to protect your fingers while doing this! I have sanded off part of my thumb!! (Not kidding now have something that looks like a nasty burn, didn't feel a thing but there was loads of blood..Handy for wet-sanding!)

i have done this to several headlights with varying results. THe finer the wet/dry the better. 2000- 2500grit finishing is best

I disagree - took me about 45mins for the last set of lights I cleaned up.

[quote="steelroe"]Agree with CJ here. If you start with say a 800 grit you will get there a lot quicker. Trick is to keep rubbing until the entire light has the same dull look. Then work you way up to 2000grit. Maybe 1000,1500 and then 2000.
Compound and polish.

Max 1 hr for set

However I was very wary the first time round.

halfords do a film for preventing peeling/scratching. might be a good preventitive measure to take straight after the fix.

Did mine on the weekend and they came up well nice 8) (only did the one) well worth doing. I used the halfords 1500 grit and the cutting paste and also t-cut for after.

I found you really have to work in the cutting paste as the head light seemed really cloudy even after cutting for 10mins +
