Very unlikely you could change the engine design from SOHC to DOHC without some major engineering.

Have you run this GS Turbo in a rollling road yet - figures?

no not yet, its only boosting 0.3 coz of stock internals, im in a middle of investing in forged pistons, n thinking about a manual conversion, i will get figures when all the work is done but at the min its my daily car, so im gonna get a second engine do the work on that then swap engines.

It would require adding valves not to mention adding a camshaft .
To be honest, you would probably get more power from a Non turbo 6A12(GPX) as apposed your 4G93T(turbo GS)
But would love to see it done

Forged pistons et al will cost you a pretty penny - what power you hoping to achieve?
Have you seen Dannys thread on here - VR4 engine into an FTO - I would imagine the costs would be similar to building that 1.8 block of yours. If you're also having to do a manual conversion it would be a no brainer for me.

For the GS forged stuff isn't a fraction of the cost of them for the 6A12. 1200 would have you forged I beam rods, gudgon pins, rings & pistons.

But as Shane & I have said for the money an engine transplant might be the best route.
But then again I didnt listen to anyone else either so If you want to do something different best of luck!

Thats just the start of it as you well know at this stage - very quickly you'd find out you need to upgrade your injectors, upgrade the fuel pump, get a better ECU, fuel return rail and then suddenly you find you need an oil cooler etc etc - Each mod you'll make will just show up the next week point in the chain. Theres a lot to be said for transplanting a proven power unit like the VR4 directly into the FTO - I reckon it'd work out much cheaper in the long run - nevermind better performing.

thx for the info guys, i agree a transplant would b the way to go, but theres so much work done to this car already id like to keep it as a 1.8, im going to get a gpvr eventually, iv always been a lover of the fto even tho this is my first one and it took me a year to find something different.

no its just something handy. but they need to be fitted correctly ie. rocker cover bung -> catch can -> intake as the aptmospheric pressure needs to be the same everywhere.

Would you mind knocking the text speak on the head? It's painful to read.
