Catch Can, or Not?

Postby goz_83 » Thu Feb 09, 2012 1:21 am

Is there any benefit to installing an oil catch can on a mivec? I know it was recently mentioned that there is no need for one on a GR, but what about a GPX? Any benefit? If yes, are they a simple install? Sound advice much appreciated as always,

Functionally, theres no benefit to installing a catch can on an non-turbo engine, n/a applications don't suffer from air intake oil ingress inherent with turbos. Spend your time and money on something more worthwhile...

I have one on my MIVEC and it never collected any oil in it.
However, I do not think it is never needed for an NA car. I have another car and I took the intake off to do a TB clean, and it had a bit of oil from the breather
