Whats wrong with it?
I find it suspecous when a car is barely owned a few months by the last few owners.

Still got the white seat covers I see. Your ad says retries, but the white leatherette is actually just a cover. My new retrims are on the way. Should arrive in 2 days and cost €220 for anyone interested in retrims, I got from auto-covers on ebay. The covers are cheaper by about €30 and easier to fit, but the retrims I think will prove to be much better and tighter. Will post pics when installed.

Beautiful car, but maybe wrong time of year to test the water, as it's pretty cold out there.

Well best of luck with it, but you hear so many stories of cars getting past on faster than the clap because there is something wrong with it.

Thats alot of monies your looking for.
You looking for people to make offers? Iv not checked what the going prices are but i thought 2000 for a showroom example woupd be the high end. You dont want to price yourself out of the market

2K in my opinion is a lot for it. There was a couple of perfect examples for sale on here recently, for sale for around that price. No point saying the extras gone into it cost more than that cause nobody every makes money back on the extras they put into a car, thats why fellas are trying to sell beat up civics for 5K on donedeal listing all these 'mods' thinking they they can justify it. Fact of the matter is once you change anything in a car to an aftermarket bit you reduce the value of it. (Unless its something like adding turbo or anything extreme like that).

You have to remember as well that its a tip not a manual, thats a huge factor. I know I have a tip, but honestly when I buy again it will be manual. The tip is great and I love it but the manual gives more acceleration and quicker take off, and is lighter. Most people looking for an FTO, will be looking for a manual.

Also, and the first point I picked up that made me not want to read any further as its a pet hate, you have 'RARE manual sunroof', the word rare is a nono for a start and to put it in bold is another thing. Theres no such thing as rare on an FTO, they are all rare in their own rate as theres so few of them around compared to other cars. Plus it can be seen from the photos it has a sunroof.

Jaysus, all the black FTOs must have ended up in Carlow at this stage, I've never seen this one around!

Too steep for me unfortunately, best of luck with the sale.

As my fto is Icelle Blue, I decided to go for the Clue and White. Blue outer (primary) and white inner (secondary). Wasn't sure about the white, but I thought it would compliment the car better than any other colour with the blue.

The link to both types of cover is http://stores.ebay.ie/auto-covers/_i.ht ... 2430078012

The seat covers you have are the €190 set as far as I can see. You should be able to see an example there too.

Perhaps that's a confirmed suspicion, or a crazy co-incidence.

Funny. I thought there was "nothing wrong with it" and that it was "perfect". Welcome to the club and how much did it set you back? It is a nice car and I hope you have luck with it after you sort the problem out.

Do the quick alternator test. Disconnect negative battery terminal when car is running. If it dies then your alternator is shot.

Hi Guys,

I wouldnt be too harsh on the seller.
Impossible to tell when some parts are going to give up the ghost.
Ive had an alternator fail on me in the past and i got no warning either.

Are you sure the alternator is defo defective, do the test as per kace.
Also check that the alternator belt is present, ive seen before the belt shredding itself off giving the impression that the alternator is at fault. The belt runs independently off the crank pulley.

If there is any dispute over the sale of the car it's best kept off the forum.
I can't see any good coming from this thread so I'm locking it.
