Just a quick note to say hello and complement you all on a great site and source of info..

Driving a Mirage 1.6R for a long time, but looking to trade up to its big brother early this year... The insurance quotes are scary for no obvious reason..??

Welcome to the site Misterbishi! The no obvious reason is rip off Ireland and that mitsi's have always been loaded. My first car was a Colt and i was paying 2500 pounds about 8 years ago. Just shop around and check our forums about insurance companies and prices.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

I wanted an FTO for years now (love at first site & sound) and I thought my days of paying High insurance had come to an end. I would say Ill be lucky to get cover for under a Grand!
That 123.ie thing is a joke, 4K excess..basically your not fully covered!

There are a lot of guys on here who would love to be paying about *only* the 1k mark for insurance... me being one of them!

Wouldn't mind seeing another couple of FTOs around Cork though! :D

insurance

Cheers, Most companys wont quote me at all, giving me lame totally unjustified excuses.
My own insurance company (quinn Direct) dont cover the FTO.
The only quote I got was with 123.ie for 9xx.00 with the 4000 excess

I am 29 with full Licence and full NCB

Hi Misterbishi. Give Wrights of Kilkenny a ring and ask for Annemarie, she organised mine and was a lot better than was offered by others. The phone number is 056-7752600. They have a system similar to Quinn, that is if you want to pay monthly. Best of luck
