FTO slam panel template

Postby CJ » Mon Jan 11, 2010 11:59 am

Topcat has put together a template that can be used in the creation of an alternative under bonnet slam panel \ fan shroud, see below:

Image

You can download a zip file containing the template in Autocad, jpg and pdf formats here.

The Autocad template is especially useful in the event that your local engineering shop supports the use of Autocad in the fabrication of stainless steel sheet for example.

Disclaimer: while every effort has been made to ensure the template is fit for purpose, please ensure you confirm measurements before fabrication.

No worries guys.
I drew it up the time I was getting the piece priced, but never used it so I thought I may as well leave it with the club. As per the disclaimer, I remember I drew it very close to size, but the rounded dimensions (700 and 180mm) were just put in to allow the fabricator to price it up, so if you intend to use it, please do a quick check on the measurements beforehand.

I still have one or 2 (offered one to someone and not heard back yet)stainless steel slam panels that I got made up a few months back for sale or swap. Its just plain, no writing or logos on them. See this thread for pictures. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10145&start=75
I have a mirrored stainless one that has a bit of a ding in it, I wanted a mirrored finish on mine and had 2 made up from the piece of mirrored I bought. The scratch/ding is only slight and is on the back of the panel but is noticeable as the reflection on the mirrored side (the top) is a little distorted but it might suit some one. As far as I know some of the lads that bought one from me sprayed theirs, so it would suit someone looking to do similar as the scratch/ding is noticeable and could not be used (in my opinion) as is. It is available at if anyone wants it. Price for the slam panel is €30, the scratched one is open to offers.
