Had a Very Productive Weekend :-)

Postby Mitsubishi-Mental » Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:08 pm

Hi lads,

Completely devoted this weekend to the FTO, decided to spoil her and fix a few of the niggly things that were annoying me.

Friday

On Friday I collected a set of rear lights, new boot carpet and a slam panel for the bay. Top man Seb :smt023

Fitted them on that evening ;

New Lights -

The old lights were cracked, chipped and looking ropey -

Slam Panel went on as well -

Saturday

Went upto the market and got a wiring kit for the Subwoofer I decided to put in the boot, my mate helped me fit it, and after a few hours i had decent sounds :smt003

Sunday

Started by giving the car a wash and full wax
Polished the windows, back, front, sides, inside and out

then i put on the FTO Stickers, big thanks to JohnK on here who sent them to me free of charge :smt023 -

Took the Induction kit out and soaked it in hot soapy water, rinsed it and left it to dry -

it was absolutely filthy, black water afterwards

Next i replaced the interior clock, changed the fuses and fixed the 3rd brake light.

Finished off by cleaning the uphosltery and dash etc -

Finished Product :smt003 -

All in all it was a nice way to spend the weekend, happy with the outcome and it feels nice and fresh to drive

Picking up a rear strut brace and a nice backbox in Wexford next Saturday

Good work! Its really nice to see the FTO in the more unusual colours.

NOOooo! Ok, its just a personal thing, but I prefer much prefer the "clean" look. Minimal stickers, de-badged, etc. I think it would look tacky if your coloured it in, and I'd even suggest taking off the Mitsubishi badge on the boot too.

Nice work! One of my rear lights was like urs with the chips. It amazing how a new one can change the whole look!!
Question tho will it pass the NCT when the indicator is red?

Actually you dont need to use paint to change the colour of the FTO logo,i used a red sticker on mine...
By the way that FTO is looking really good! Just a personal opinion, you can try to remove the rear wing and see if you like it,i think it should look better without any rear spoiler :)
I'm spanish, sorry if my english is so poor,i learned it at school when i was a kid and i forgot almost all of it lol
