Dials and airbags etc

Hi there,

What’s the story for the NCT for airbags and MPH dials if they were standard on the car. The new motor I am looking at buying is a 1990 – 1992 car and so dials in MPH and no airbags. I am guessing that they only test on the car per the cars standard but can anyone confirm this for me?

I know that they're ok with a car with no airbags and they only check for things like fog lamps if they are fitted so I'm sure that it's the same for speedos - I passed the nct two years ago with KMs on the dial but we were still driving in miles. (I like to think of myself as an early adopter)

Ya, firstly they've no way of testing the airbag short of setting it off, and neither do they check speedos I'd imagine, the rollers are for testing the brakes.
