Good value out there or will prices fall further?

Postby soc » Sun Apr 26, 2009 8:54 pm

Was having a look on carzone to get a feel for where the market is at right now. Looking at getting something a bit bigger while maybe keeping the TT. The search criteria I used was sub 25k, >=3lt, petrol and milage under 60k.

You can definitely get some great cars for sub 25k now..... the question is, will prices fall further or is now a good time to buy?

Here's some examples of varying cars that would be nice to own:

The following wouldn't be an option for me because they're 2 seaters but interesting to see the prices all the same

TVR or Focus - the decision will also boil down to whether you want to spend a lot of time at the shop :D

I wish I had 25 to drop on a new car.... *sigh* I must be the only person feeling the bite of the recession. I reckon if I won 100k tomorrow, I still would not spend 25k on a car. :smt004

If you're buying one come in with a really low offer. People are struggling so much to sell anything over 10k at the moment that they'll take crazy money. Look for somebody who's emigrating and has been advertising a while. You'll be surprised how much they'll come down.

Even better if you're willing to do the legwork, find out from a dealer what they'd offer on a trade for the car. Everyone prefers cash in hand so if you use that as a baseline you can get a really good deal.

Of course this only applies to private sales.

Great, except the VRT on a late 07 model is €21k

Also, where can you get an Evo X for that sort of price?

It's also crazy that you could probably buy a fleet of 12 FTOs for that

Is this even an M3? The exhaust isnt right, and maybe its the angle but I cant see M3 written by the vents on the wings. It looks more like an M-pack than an actual M3.

nothing wrong with the exhast on either car both have quads?? Defo both m3's check out the rear arches, M3's have a wider track than standard 3series. M sport badge is even on the speedo.
Seen an 07 M3 for £28,000 in Bavarian BMW in belfast 17,000 miles white with carbon roof. 8)

Does the first one have quads?? Cant see it in the light of the pic, thats why i said it doesnt look like an m3 to me, arches can be made easily to fit so wouldnt take them as being the thing that gives it away. But if it has quads then fair enough.

You can enlarge the pictures on that site, when you do it's clear to see the silver car has quads. Though you can't confirm from looking at a picture the rear track i.e distance between the wheels is wider. ultimately the proof is in the drive there's no fakin that

I can confirm that both cars are M3's - I've driven both
