Hey everyone!

I have just bought myself a 1995 FTO as a project so thought I better join up :)

It has a GPX body but has a 2.0L GR engine. Bodywork in really really rough condition as in scratches and chips but does not have too much rust underneath. Mechanically she is relatively sound, a few issues i.e Very, very smoky but am putting that down to the old fuel in her, maybe the lambada sensor.

She was sat for two years in a barn and was going to be scrapped so I saved her from death. It is amazing how quick a car deteriorates when stood! Luckily for me, by the looks of it, she was given a bit of an overhaul just before storage. She has a new sump, new brake pads, new exhaust so saves me a little dosh.

I am already finding out that this will be an expensive hobby but hey, better than spending it on her than down the pub!

Speak soon

Welcome along - get some pics up.
What are your plans for the FTO - are you putting it back on the road or track car? Is it manual or Tiptronic?

BTW - GPX/GR body is practically the same (apart from an unnoticeable sideskirt) - is it GPX badged and someone stuck a non-mivec in there at some point?
