Ya we need to start finalizing details, for booking hotels and activities or whatever.
Am I right in reading on that website that the dirt karting plus accommodation is €145?

Yeah that's right. It's Plus accommodation. Steep IMO.

I did suggest the midlands so it will be easy for everyone no matter where they are to meet up and also suggested tynagh, but got no response. Up to someone Else then to suggest something!

A good drive never hurt anyone , and it's been a major thing in the past years @ fto ireland meets .

Drive - photosession - drive - pub - hotel

This will get rid of the ''activity'' planning .

Ya to be honest I think leave the activity for some other, as it stood for 2 of us we were looking at the weekend costing around €500 with petrol costs etc. and to be honest thats a bit much so I think Stewy might be onto something with the midlands, or if we could find somewhere scenic that would be nice.

The last time we were in Galway it was flooded, Tynagh was great craic though despite the torrential rain.
I'd be up for round two if ye like?

I'd love to have a go at Tynagh in the rain, I'd say it'd be class. Plus there's the added entertainment of seeing what new racing excuses Myfeckin comes up with ... :P

I just talked to the guys at the buggy place there. The best they will do is if there are 10+ people, they will let one person go free. So we're still looking at >€90 a head, which personally I feel is a little steep, or moreso that it's pushing my budget at this time of the year. You could get karting and bowling (and possibly a meal) for the same money.

Oh yeah, typical attitude from within the pale! :P One in Athlone actually, but I'm not sure how good it is.
Actually, looking at Tynagh (if thats what we decide to do), Galway city would be closer. Its not midlands, but a savage spot for a night out!

Galway is a great place to go out. Spent 4 years at college there and hardly remeber it. Would tie in great with tynagh if its a go ahead

Vote is strongly suggesting 26th/27th Feb, so I think its safe to assume that weekend in term of booking off time.

Right, well lets throw some suggestions out and see what peoples think.

Tom's suggestion..

How about meet in Tynagh for a bit of karting, and then road trip to somewhere like Kinvara (~50mins away) and further for a bit of a road trip if wanted, and then back to Kinvara for the night. Class village, and somewhere like Merriman Hotel is central and €45 for B&B, I reckon we'd get them to €40 a head easy if the numbers are as good as they seem.

*Edit - time to Kinvara a little optimistic at first.

I'd be on for Tynagh/Kinvara. I've a title to keep in Tynagh :P and Kinvara has allways been a great FTO meeting point.
