I kind of liked that feature on the old format forum .
it gave you an idea of the traffic and who visited the site in the last 24 hours.

This was a forum modification and didn't come standard with PHPBB2. I don't believe the UOT (Users Online Today) mod has been made available for PHPBB3 as yet.
