There are different types of Potenza's - for instance a Potenza RE040 won't be anything like as good as Potenza RE050.

It was for the RE040 I was paying the €175, unless prices are after coming dramatically down then I'd imagine its an error in the quote, time will tell, and if it is that price then I know where I'll be getting my tyres in future!

Tyre prices have come down quite a lot esp in the larger sizes. When you think about it 215/45 17 is about normal now on a run of the mill family 4 door and prices have adjusted. I wouldn't pay more than 120Euro for RE050's in that size nevermind RE040's. Camskill have good pricing on Falken 452's at under 80euro per tyre - http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php? ... b0s15p6204 - best value performance per € for tyres of this size.
